Welcome to the
Rotary Club of Lake Houston Area
Rotary is where neighbors, friends, and problem solvers share ideas, join leaders, and take action to create lasting change. We have club activities, social events, and volunteer projects which offer networking opportunities that build personal and professional connections while at the same time serving the community. And Rotarians can extend those networks by visiting other clubs around the globe.
Change your community with us by volunteering on a local project.
We work with groups and organizations of all sizes to accomplish even more.
Discover and celebrate diverse perspectives with a global organization.

Cinco de Mayo Golf Tournament presented by Plains State Bank
We take our golf seriously. We also take seriously the unique opportunity that the Rotary Club of Lake Houston Area Golf Tournament provides to benefit MANY community organizations. Money raised will be dispersed to Local Community programs, including HAAM, Mission Northeast, FamilyTime and local High School FFA Projects. A portion of the funds are sent to Rotary International to help with projects involving fresh drinking water or the eradication of polio.
Please join us for a great day of fellowship, fun and wonderful causes at the Tour 18 Golf course. On behalf of the community we serve, thank you for making this tournament possible.

The $117,000 Rotary Grant was approved to further assist the Erasmo Meoz hospital in Cucuta, Colombia.
They are experiencing a the huge influx of Venezuelans fleeing their country due to hunger, lack of clean water, lack of electricity, lack of medicine, lack of jobs and lack of freedom and respect to human dignity.  Gladys Maldonado in Cucuta and I have had the privilege of developing five Global Grants totaling $457,000 since Andy Smallwood introduced us at the Atlanta convention 2 1/2 years ago..
A very important thank you to Rotarians around the world who contributed the bulk of the funds for these projects.
AND Gladys and I have plans for additional projects in Cucuta.

The 2019 Hayden McKay Citizen of the Year Award was given to attorney Michael R. Carr, who has served years in the community in a variety of facets from the time he was in the Boy Scouts. He said that receiving the award was an honor and made him feel like he has accomplished a piece of his goal of helping to make his community a better place.

“One of the things I’ve always wanted to see at the end [is] that you make a difference,” Carr said. “You make things better. When you get through, things are better than when you came… that means that you don’t just spend the time on yourself and money. You try to do it to make sure that other people come along with need it also, help develop the area, people enjoy this area much better.”
