Over a dozen Lake Houston Rotarians gathered at Light of the World Christian Fellowship Church in Humble on Wednesday, December 17 to help Humble Area Assistance Ministries (H.A.A.M.) distribute Christmas gift items for children (toys, games, books, food, clothes, bicycles, etc.) to the parents of children from families less fortunate than ourselves.

Rotarians and other volunteers helped pre-selected families choose gifts for their children and then load the children’s gifts, and grocery supplies into their cars at distribution stations located around the church parking lot.

The families with children needing assistance were identified by the Humble Independent School District prior to distribution day. The event was supported by the Rotary Club of Lake Houston Area and volunteers from other area organizations and businesses.

The distribution stations were reloaded with more supplies through-out the day by volunteers from storage rooms inside the church. Hundreds of local area families were expected to be helped by H.A.A.M.’s outreach ministry during the two-day event.

Special thanks to the Rotary volunteers and their family members who turned out to help out. They were (in no particular order): Jen, Christy, Mike, Lacy, Gregg, Kat, Sunni, Kathy, Eileen, Tong, Bob, Roger, Eric, Bruce, Aiden and Lesly.
