2023-2024 President-elect Juan Aybar welcomes new member Sunni Baker into the Lake Houston Rotary Club at Wednesday's regular meeting on January 25, 2023 at the Lake Houston Family YMCA, 2420 W. Lake Houston Pkwy, in Kingwood. Prior to joining Rotary, Sunni had already been a community volunteer at local non-profit agencies including InspireND and FamilyTime Crisis & Counseling Center. After reading a Rotary magazine last year, she knew Rotary was the right place for her to meet like-minded and caring community members.
The Rotary Club of Lake Houston Area inducted Sunni Baker into club membership at their regular meeting at the Lake Houston Family YMCA in Kingwood on Wednesday, January 25th. Her induction was officiated by Rotary Membership Chair Jim Polomsky and she received her Rotary membership pin from her sponsor, Kat Sison.
Sunni is a human resources manager at Smart Family of Cooling Products, a company owned by her husband Ryan and his aunt and uncle. The Baker family of five lives in Kingwood, Texas. Her children attend middle school and high school in Humble ISD.
Sunni earned a B.S. in Food Science and Nutrition from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has lived in many states, including Hawaii.
Volunteering in the community and donating to family-enriching causes are not new activities for Sunni. She has volunteered and donated to nonprofit organizations in the Houston area, such as InspireND and FamilyTime Crisis & Counseling Center.
After she read a Rotary magazine in 2022, she knew Rotary International was the right place for her to meet like-minded and caring community members. She has already joined the Rotary Friendship Exchange committee to help welcome Rotarians that will be visiting this year from Guadalajara, Mexico.
