Attending the Houston Rodeo with a group of District 5890 Rotarians and other Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) students were three Lake Houston Rotary Club’s RYE students for this year. They are "Jay" Jaehyeok from South Korea attending Kingwood Park High School, Barbara from Italy attending Atascocita High School and Andre from Brazil attending Kingwood High School.

“What a fantastic night we had at Rotary Night at the Houston Rodeo. Thank you to all that took the time to come join us and I hope that you all left having made a new Rotary friend and enjoyed the amazing fellowship as much as I did.

Sincere heartfelt THANK YOU to Genevieve Rowland for being our awesome coordinator under the mentorship of our long-time Rodeo wrangler John Cotterell.

The food was exceptional and the highlight for me was seeing our Rotary Youth Exchange Students enjoy the experience.  Thank you to the dedicated RYE Committee members and host families that allowed them to have that experience.

I wanted to share this picture so that all can see the magic of RYE in action.  We are setting these young people up to lead in the future in a huge way through this experience and truly fostering peace as the world becomes so much better as you gain friends and family members from all over it.

District 5890 Rotary Youth Exchange students from other countries were able to experience a little bit of American culture during the Houston Rodeo.

I look forward to seeing many of you next week at the Texas Rotary Round-Up All Club Celebration at Safari Ranch in Richmond as we showcase our Texas Hospitality for our friends who are not as blessed as we are to live in the great state of TEXAS.”
