Rotary District 5890 Global Scholar, Fatou Jallow, has sent Rotarian Bill Davis a status update. She has been named a Princeton in Asia Fellow in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She has deferred her Rotary Global Scholarship for 12 months. Shortly after receiving her Global Scholarship she was awarded the Princeton in Asia Fellowship. She left for Vietnam a month ago. Fatou is a native of Gambia and appears at the very bottom of the selfie group photo.

Rotary District 5890 Global Scholar, Fatou Jallow, was awarded her scholarship and shortly thereafter she was awarded a fellowship working as a Princeton in Asia Fellow in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. Therefore, she has deferred her Global scholarship for one year. Fatou is a native of Gambia and appears at the very bottom of the selfie group photo.

Hello Bill!

Thanks for reaching out. I have started my fellowship working as a Princeton in Asia Fellow in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. I am the Development Coordinator at AIP Foundation, Asia's lead road traffic non-profit. This was why I wanted to defer my scholarship for a year.

It has been fantastic; they truly are changing the sphere of road safety in south-east Asia and the world. I get to work closely with our Cambodia office, where one of our primary goals is to make sure that Women's Garment workers get safe and legal transport to and from work. I also work with my team to create child safety and helmet safety programs.

I have only been here for a month, but it has been great. I was sharing with a Co-worker about Rotary in Saigon. Once I am more settled, hopefully, we can work on a project together.

I also just moved into my apartment, and I would love to host you or any fellow Houston Rotarians if they are ever in town. I shall send you pictures in a separate email.

I hope you are doing well!
