Of everything I love about Houston, what really made it a top choice were the patients we serve: the veterans at our Houston VA, kids from all over the world at Texas Children's (#2 in the nation), and Houstonians of all walks of life.
And of course, I'll get to remain in touch with Rotary District 5890.
Chris graduated from Houston College of Medicine where he played the violin in Baylor's orchestra.
While in London he completed the ½-mile charity run on two occasions.
Chris added, "Yesterday I accepted the United States Public Health Service Excellence in Public Health Award at our school's morning military commencement ceremony, presented by uniformed officer Emily Winans.
I was honored and humbled to be invited to this event alongside 2 of my fellow medical school graduates who are being commissioned into the United States Air Force.
The speakers reflected on how these graduates were joining not one but two professions, impressing on them the weighty responsibilities of being in the military and in medicine.
I am in awe of their tenacity and hope to bring the same gravitas to my upcoming clinical duties, which include many rotations at our Veterans Affairs Medical Center.”
Congratulations Dr. Chris Wong from all your friends at the Rotary Club of Lake Houston Area. We hope you’ll come visit us again soon.
