Rotary’s Cinco de Mayo Charity Golf Tournament players had fun, beautiful weather, good food, and camaraderie playing golf on Thursday, May 8th at the Atascocita Golf Club to help local charities and student scholarships supported by volunteers from the Rotary Club of Lake Houston area.

The day began early at 7 a.m. with registration, goodie bags and breakfast with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Players competed for a chance to win the $10,000 Hole-in-One Contest and the $5,000 Putting Contest. There were also raffle prizes available for bidding at the silent auction.

When golfers ended play, they were able to enjoy a delicious lunch catered by Tin Roof BBQ in Atascocita. After lunch, trophies were awarded to teams placing first, second or third place on the course. Unfortunately, we’re sorry to report no one won the big prize money but everyone had fun trying to win it.
Silent auction raffle prizes were also available for bidding including a fair amount of wine and spirits. Special thanks to everyone who participated in the auction.
