Dr. Roger Brown was sworn in as the new 2024-2025 president of the Rotary Club of Lake Houston Area by Rotary District 5890 Governor Nancy Anderson on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. The celebration dinner and ceremony were held with family, friends and club members at the The Walden on Lake Houston Golf & Country Club in Atascocita. Other club officers, board members and committee chairs, including those from the Summer Creek Satellite club, were also sworn in. Rotary's "year" runs from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025.
 
The Lake Houston Rotary president's gavel has been passed! 2023-2024 Club President Juan Aybar handed his gavel over to 2024-2025 President-Elect Dr. Roger Brown to usher in the new Rotary year starting July 1st with new (and returning) board members, officers and committee chairs.
 


 
The gavel for Rotary’s Summer Creek Satellite Club was also passed from President Adam Shepherd to President-Elect Sheena Girner. Adam also named Sheena the satellite club’s 2023-2024 Rotarian of the Year.
 
The celebration to welcome in the new year was held on Wednesday, June 19th at The Walden on Lake Houston Golf & Country Club.
 



 


 
Jim Polomsky was named Rotarian of the Year by President Juan Aybar. Jim was recognized for his efforts in growing the club’s membership.
 
Our new officers and board members were sworn in by 2024-2025 Rotary District 5890 Governor Nancy Anderson.
 



The 2024-2025 Officers, Directors and Committee Chairs are: Dr. Roger Brown, President; Scott Hively, 2025-2026 President-Elect; Tom Stegner, 2026-2027 President Nominee; Juan Aybar, Immediate Past President; Laurie Polomsky, Secretary; Kat Sison, Treasurer; Sonia Garcia, Michael Nasra, Michael Kevlin, Shannon Carr, Susan Brodbeck, Directors-At-Large; Sheena Girner, Director & President of Summer Creek Satellite Club; Almeria Lacy, Director & President-Elect of Summer Creek Satellite Club; Bruce Wood, Public Image Chair; Jim Polosky, Membership Chair; Pam McNair, Foundation Chair; Felipe LaRotta, International Service Chair; and Dr. Bob Cassidy, Sergeant-At-Arms.

Dr. Brown shared a little bit about himself and of his vision for the club for the coming year. One of his goals is to create a 4k run community event sponsored by Lake Houston Rotary.

Rotary International’s 2024-2025 theme and logo was introduced as “The Magic of Rotary”.
 


 
Lake Houston Rotary is a community service-based organization providing volunteers and raising money for local charities!
